2016
Going global
European companies join the platform. VanHack expands beyond Canada and begins building what will become a truly global talent network.
2017
Techstars Berlin
VanHack is accepted into the Techstars Accelerator in Berlin — one of the most competitive startup programs in the world. European operations launch across Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, UK, Ireland, and Luxembourg. The Luxembourg Government Startup Accelerator follows.
2018
The first Hiring Events
VanHack hosts what becomes the world's largest recruiting fair for tech talent with relocation. 72 hires in a single event. The "Leap" program brings engineers to Canada and Europe to meet companies in person before committing to a move.
2019
150,000 VanHackers
The community crosses 150,000 tech professionals. VanHack is named to the mentorship program for the top 10 most promising Canadian startups.
2020
1,000 hires
A milestone: more than 1,000 engineers hired through the platform. The network effect begins to compound.
2021
Best year yet
Over 500 hires in a single year. VanHack wins the LinkedIn 2021 Talent Awards and is named one of the Top 100 Tech Companies to Watch.
2022
Standing up when it mattered
As war broke out in Ukraine, VanHack helped relocate 22 Ukrainian engineers to Canada. 400+ hires that year. The platform proves it can operate at scale under pressure.
2023
New product, new revenue
VanHack launches a new product helping engineers with remote jobs relocate to Canada while keeping their current positions. Revenue diversification and resilience through a weaker hiring market.
2024
Back to growth
The Canadian Engineering Office scales to nearly 100 relocations. The business returns to profitability and resumes growth on a stable foundation.
